Cooling Water

20 April, 2009 at 19:18 (Uncategorized)

“You’ve always had a thing for voices,” my Mum tells me.
“Oh it’s him on the phone again,” echoes from adolescence.
And yours is like a cool, clear glass of water
at the end of a long day.
My face upturned in a sudden stream,
flowing over Cumbrian rocks.
Relaxed, refreshed at the same instant sound of it.
I’ve always had a thing for voices,
and yours, I’ll drink in gladly.

I really liked your poem, how you compare this voice to a glass of water was very nice. It is a calming poem.

Thankyou very much. I wrote it about a man with a very calming voice.
