In this river that we swim you have always been my home,
The floating bed of reeds onto which I climb,
In this river where I dive, it is to you that I return,
These passions of mine to dive, to swim, to explore,
In this river that we swim you are always my home.
You are the water I drink,
You are the splash against my face where others hide away,
You are my only protection against the sunshine,
It burns in this river,
It chars our reeds,
And still I dive, in this river that we swim,
Returning to you after each breathless time.
